2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Review, Pricing & Specs
Last updated on March 2nd, 2022 at 07:20 am
Due to a significant makeover scheduled for the 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-class, the entry-luxury automobile category is in for some significant changes. Even though the C-class has long been considered the entry-level model in the Mercedes-Benz lineup, new additions to the brand in recent years, such as the A-class sedan, have allowed the C-class to move upmarket and better compete against rivals such as the Audi A4, BMW 3-series, and Genesis G70. The all-new 2022 model will continue to be based on a rear-wheel-drive basis, will be powered by a turbocharged four-cylinder engine, and will have the option of all-wheel drive. We notice the most significant modernization in the interior, as the C-class incorporates aesthetic features and technologies from the newly remodeled S-class sedan, which will debut in 2021.
What’s New in the Year 2022?
In a nutshell, everything. Even though the style of the new C-class isn’t a significant divergence from that of the 2021 model, the 2022 model year marks the beginning of a new generation that offers more luxury and a wider variety of high-tech amenities. The revamped C-class is expected to arrive at Mercedes dealerships in the spring of 2022.

Pricing and Choosing Which One to Purchase
Mercedes-Benz will provide three separate trim levels on the 2022 C-class, rather than offering a la carte choices like the previous generation vehicle. These are Premium, Exclusive, and Pinnacle. Upon closer inspection, it seems that the Exclusive trim at the mid-range price point will appeal to the most number of consumers, thanks to features like a 360-degree exterior camera system, a self-parking capability, wireless smartphone charging, and a Burmester quality music system. Although we anticipate Mercedes to continue selling the C-class in a coupe and convertible body style in the future, we expect just the sedan to be offered at the start of the model year. Most features, including a prominent touchscreen display, digital gauges, heated front seats, automatic high-beam headlights, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, a sunroof, and other amenities, are standard on all variants. Mercedes-4Matic Benz’s all-wheel-drive system is available as an option, and we’ll leave it up to you to determine whether or not you need it.
Engine, Transmission, and Performance are all crucial considerations
Even though the 2022 C-class will continue to be driven by a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine with 255 horsepower, the engine will be supplemented by a 48-volt hybrid system that can deliver up to 20 more horsepower on demand. An all-wheel drive is still an option. The rear-wheel industry is the default configuration; a nine-speed automatic transmission is a sole transmission available. Even though we haven’t had a chance to test the Mercedes-Benz C-class on our test track, Mercedes-Benz predicts that it will reach 60 mph in 5.9 seconds. We feel the figure is modest, given that the previous generation C-class achieved a time of 5.4 seconds.
Fuel economy and real-world miles per gallon (MPG)
The Environmental Protection Agency has not yet released fuel economy estimates for the 2022 C-class. Still, the new car’s ratings should be similar to the current model, which gets 23 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway. The new C-class will be put through its paces in our highway fuel efficiency test, and the findings will be posted here as soon as we get them. Visit the Environmental Protection Agency’s website for additional information on the C-fuel class’s efficiency.

Mercedes C Class 2022 interior, comfort, and cargo space
With a new high-tech interior, the C-class has undergone the most significant transformation to date. All versions are equipped with a digital gauge display, touch-sensitive controls, and a slew of other features. The new model has a steering wheel that is similar in appearance to that of the revised S-class cars. Mercedes includes a long list of standard luxury options, including heated front seats with memory settings, a sunroof, open-pore wood trim, and aluminium accents. The overall length of the 2022 C-class is about 2.5 inches longer than the current model, and its wheelbase has been lengthened by an inch. Although Mercedes-Benz claims that this results in increased rear-seat legroom, it will be impossible to tell how visible the change is in real life until we get the opportunity of testing the new model.
Information and communication technology (ICT)
It sweeps up from the centre console and toward a trio of spherical air vents on top of the upper dashboard. It is joined by a big, 12.3-inch vertically oriented touchscreen display identical to the one seen in the revised version S-class sedan. To make it easier to use while driving, the touchscreen has been tilted slightly toward the driver. It runs the most recent version of Mercedes’ MBUX infotainment system, which includes the voice-activated digital assistant, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as online access via a Wi-Fi hotspot. A fingerprint sensor is also included in all models, authenticating the driver’s unique profile for memory settings and saving them on the vehicle’s digital gauge display. It is possible to add on features such as the head-up display, wireless smartphone charging pad, ambient lighting system, and a Burmester surround audio sound system for an additional cost.
Mercedes C Class 2022 Exterior
The progressive character of the C-Class is immediately apparent even before you step foot inside. In addition, the combination of a short front overhang, a long wheelbase, and a stylish hood with dual power domes contributes to the illusion of forward motion from the vehicle’s exterior. The windscreen and passenger cell have been relocated to the car’s rear to achieve classic proportions, referred to as a “cab-backwards” design in the industry. Meanwhile, the brand’s signature radiator grille and new two-piece LED taillights to serve as the perfect complement to the sleek and compact body design.
The C-Class redefines efficiency in terms of performance, thanks to the comprehensive electrification of the four-cylinder engine of the 21st century. Gliding, boosting and energy recovery are now possible thanks to an integrated starter/generator that operates on a 48-volt onboard electrical system. The newly developed segment turbocharger results from the intensive collaboration between Mercedes-Benz turbocharger developers and the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One team. In combination, the result is an intoxicating combination of power and efficiency.
The Mercedes-Benz C-Class Convertible Sedan for 2022 is more extensive, bolder, and more inventive than any previous model. It will debut at Mercedes-Benz dealerships in the United States in early 2022.

Driver-Assistance and Safety-related Features
Mercedes provides a slew of essential driver-assistance technologies in the C-class. Still, the car’s most innovative technology, such as an adaptive cruise-control system that uses navigation data to alter the vehicle’s speed for oncoming bends and roundabouts, is available as an option. Suppose you want to learn more about the C-crash-test class’s results. In that case, you may visit the websites of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety(IIHS). The following are anticipated to be among the most important safety features:
- With pedestrian detection, standard automatic emergency braking is provided.
- Lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist is an option on this vehicle.
- Adaptive cruise control with a semi-autonomous driving mode is available as an option.
Coverage for Warranty and Maintenance
The basic warranty from Mercedes-Benz does not include three years of free maintenance. This contrasts with BMW, Genesis, and Volvo, who possess this advantage. Aside from that, all new Mercedes-Benz vehicles are covered by an industry-standard warranty covering most repairs for up to four years or 50,000 miles.
- Four years or 50,000 miles is the maximum length of the limited warranty.
- Warranty on the powertrain is valid for four years or 50,000 miles.
- There will be no free planned maintenance.
