2022 Hyundai Sonata Specs & Key Features

The Hyundai Sonata is a mid-size car that Hyundai has manufactured since 1985. The first time Hyundai launched the Automobile was in 1985 as the first generation Sonata, and it was called the facelifted Hyundai Stellar with an engine upgrade. Still, unluckily it was withdrawn from the market within two years because of the poor customer reaction.

Hyundai was originally an automobile manufactured in South Korea, but after the launch of the second generation of Hyundai Sonata, it was widely exported. The Hyundai Sonata, after its second comeback with the second generation Hyundai Sonata Y2, became a contributing factor to Hyundai’s expansion in North America.

The Hyundai Sonata is currently manufactured in the United States for the North American market, in China and South Korea for the Asian market, and in Russia for the other global markets. The Sonata was launched in Europe in June 1989 as the third brand to be sold following the Hyundai brand’s European launch.

The Sonata Y2, which made the name of Hyundai across the world, was designed by Hyundai and included Mitsubishi’s engineer in the project. The engines of the Sonata designed under the supervision of Mitsubishi’s engineer were made under the license in South Korea.

The Hyundai Sonata was named after the musical term Sonata. It is a Latin and Italian word that means a piece played as opposed to a cantata, which is a piece sung.

The Hyundai Sonata 2022 is a mid-size automobile. Under the hood, there will be a smart stream 1.6 liters gasoline Direct Injection turbocharged engine with four cylinders connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The engine produces a power of 880 horses and a power set of 5500 rpm per 195 pound-feet of torque. The engine’s fuel efficiency is 24 kilometers per liter in the city and 37 kilometers per liter on the highway, which is around 31 kilometers per liter combined. So the Splendour Hyundai Sonata is highly fueled and efficient, and it is suitable for the cities and a big yes if you are thinking of long drives and cold winds.

The Continuous Variable Valve Duration that is CVVD is also included to make the best out of and to extract as much fuel efficiency as possible. The Hyundai Sonata has quick acceleration and can feel the torque while driving.

The Sonata SE AND SEL will come with 2.5 liters turbocharged engine with four cylinders again, which will make more horsepower but, on the other hand, a little less torque. The exterior design of the Sonata Sedan is very distinctive and unique from the other models manufactured by Hyundai. The front of the Sedan has a very large grille occupying most of the front. The gloss finish on the grilles gives a beautiful look to them, making them look more aggressive and less conservative.

The Sonata headlight design is not essential and has been made unique with a complete LED with an advanced projector matrix LED lights, but the most distinctive feature is the daytime running light that surrounds the headlights and runs to the top of the hood. This feature stands out more than anything.

The Sedan gives several different wheel choices as well. Starting from the base model, it will have a 16-inch alloy, which moves to a 17-inch and 18 inches contrast finish, whereas the inline Sonata sedan will come with 19-inch alloys. The side mirrors for all the configurations of the Sedan except for the base model will have heating and blind spot monitoring.

The Sedan has 192.9 inches of really nice chrome door handles. Going to the back, Sedan’s rear end offers such a sophisticated finish. It has a total length LED tail light that comes to the deck and goes around the corners of the entire back. The full LED tail lights full great, but at night time, it gives a fantastic vibe on the road.

In the center, this is in between the taillights. On either side, they have an integrated lip spoiler that will be of carbon fiber. Down the rear end, the diffusers will have the dual exhaust on the right side.

The Sonata Sedan will also be equipped with all the emergency elements: the ford emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-keeping assists, high auto beams, and adaptive cruise controls.

Moving into the Sedan’s interiors, there isn’t a significant change in the design. The Sonata has a wide variety of interior color and material options. The SC AND SEL Trim levels will come standard with cloth seating, whereas the SCL Plus will offer a leatherette seat with suede inserts. The inline comes with the Napa leather-trimmed seats with a suede insert, and the inline trim level comes with real leather with any color of your choice among black, grey, or camel color options.

On the door and the middle of the two front seats, they have an armrest along with the one-touch auto up and down driver and passenger window level controls on the door armrest. All the seats have an eight-way power adjusting seat with two-way lumbar support.

The interiors have a very calm and relaxed finish, very versatile indeed. The Sonata has a 12.3-inch full reconfigurable gauge cluster behind the car’s steering wheel with nice graphics. It has a proximity key entry and pushes the start button, dual automatic temperature controls, the power driver seat with lumbar support, 60/40 split-folding rear seat, smart cruise control with go and stop, Bose premium audio with twelve speakers including a 9-inch subwoofer, 10.25-inch touchscreen navigation system and USB and auxiliary input Jacks.
