2022 Honda Insight EX: powerful and fuel efficient

The hybrid version of the Honda Civic will live on in the form of the 2022 Honda Insight Ex. The Honda Insight Ex is comparable to the Honda Civic in terms of size and appearance, but it has a more efficient gas-electric engine beneath the hood. As a result, the Insight Ex is more peaceful to operate at low speeds and achieves higher mileage ratings. There are a lot of the Civic’s greatest features right here, including how comfy the ride is, how nice the cabin is, and how precise the handling is. There will be a tiny decrease in acceleration, and the car may become loud when you step on it, but it is a nice-looking sedan that doesn’t cost much more than non-hybrid competitors, and it will save you money at the gas station.

Engine and Performance

The Honda Insight Ex strikes a better balance between brisk acceleration and stingy fuel efficiency than the majority of hybrid vehicles on the market today. Its use of both an internal combustion engine and electric motors results in a total output of 151 horsepower, which allows it to accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 7.7 seconds. It is possible for it to drive only on its electric motor for around one mile at slower speeds, but if you desire rapid acceleration, the gasoline engine will smoothly kick in. The engine of the Insight may become noticeably louder when subjected to vigorous acceleration, but other than that, the powertrain is quite quiet and smooth. Driving this car is a really pleasurable experience. It is unobtrusive, luxurious, and sophisticated, and it boldly manoeuvres through corners. It is no surprise that this is the case given that it is technically comparable to the Civic sedan, which also has these qualities in a similar fashion. The Honda Insight features a ride that is neatly controlled and handling that is competent, despite the fact that it is not very sporty.

Interior and Comfort

2022 Honda Insight

Features and finishes in the interior fall somewhere in the centre of the spectrum between cheap and expensive. The Insight Ex has a more upmarket feel than the Civic, and it compares well with comparable hybrids. Fuel efficiency and speed limits are only two examples of the kinds of data that might be shown on a digital gauge in the instrument panel. However, the driver’s seat lacks adjustable lumbar support, which is a disappointment. Two people may comfortably ride in the backseat. You can still fit heavy goods in there since the battery pack is positioned behind the back seat and folds down to a flat position. However, the centre console of the Insight Ex is quite versatile and can carry a lot of personal stuff. In addition, there are a few containers in the cargo hold.

Infotainment and Connectivity

This system’s menus may grow unnecessarily convoluted, and there is no tuning knob. Honda’s infotainment system has a fairly current and intuitive interface, and a volume knob is now included. In addition to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone connection, the 8.0-inch touchscreen provides built-in navigation.
